Chinese FM Hopes DPRK-ROK Summit A SuccessChinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan said Thursday that China is sincerely pleased that the situation in the Korean Peninsula has continued toward easing, and is now showing positive changes.While holding talks with visiting Foreign and Trade Minister of the Republic of Korea Lee Joung-Binn, Tang said China sincerely hopes that both sides on the peninsula will continue their efforts, cast their eyes at the general situation, and seek similarity and allow differences to make the upcoming summit a success, and contribute to improved relations between the north and the south and peace and stability in the peninsula, said Tang. Tang pointed to the agreement to hold a summit meeting in Pyongyang in June as a major event since the separation of the peninsula half a century ago. The agreement results from efforts of both sides, and is a major event in the peninsula's peace process, he added.
