China Grouped with South Korea in Asian Cup Draw

China joins arch rival South Korea in Group B at this year's Asian Cup soccer tournament slated for Otober 12-29.

Japan will play defending champion Saudi Arabia in their opening first-round match, while Thursday's draw in Beirut also placed Uzbekistan and Qatar in Group C.

The Japanese, who defeated the Saudis in the final of the 1992 competition in Hiroshima, face the three-time champion on October 14.

Iran and Iraq were drawn together in Group A, along with the host.

The top two teams from the three first-round groups, plus the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup, with the final to be played October 29.
