Model Workers Tour Great Wall

Chinese model workers, who have come Beijing to attend a Labor Day conference to commend their hard work and efforts, toured the Great Wall today.

At about 10:00 Friday morning, delegations of model workers from Guangdong, Gansu, Tibet, Xinjiang and other provinces and autonomous regions arrived at the Dadaling section of the Great Wall.

Despite of the gloomy weather, the delegates were very excited to see the magnificent view of the Great Wall.

Some of the delegates from China's northwest autonomous region of Xinjiang said that they were given a warm reception since they arrived yesterday.

"The Party and the central government have given us great honors. We are determined to do our utmost for the prosperity of the country," a delegate said.

The State Council will hold a large conference in Beijing on April 29, where 2,950 model workers will be cited for their contributions to the country.
