Beijing to Hold China International Friendship Cities Conference
The China International Friendship Cities Conference will be held on September 26-29 in Beijing, according to its organizer, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
In support of the conference, the CPAFFC will also work together with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to launch an exchange expo and an economic and trade forum among international friendship cities on September 27-30.
During the 1973-99 period, 937 Chinese cities had established sister-city relations with cities in over 100 countries. These cities have cooperated in both social and economic sectors, producing fruitful results.
The conference will help Chinese and foreign cities to exchange experience in city construction, and also further develop and promote new contacts.
