Chinese Taipei Beats South Korea 2-1 in Fed Cup Tennis

Wang Shi-ting and Janet Lee won a deciding doubles against South Korea as Chinese Taipei beat the South Korean team 2-1 in the Fed Cup tennis Asia Oceania Group One tournament in Osaka, Japan on Friday.

The Chinese pair defeated Chae Kyung-Yee and Cho Yoon-Jeong 7-5, 6-4.

Chinese Taipei had three victories against no defeat in the six- team Pool B round robin. South Korea had three straight defeats. The match had been slated for Thursday but was postponed because Lee played already played two singles and one doubles matches in ousting New Zealand 2-1 and squaring 1-1 against South Korea.

Players are allowed to play up to three matches a day. Third seed Chinese Taipei will face Indonesia, while South Korea is to play Singapore later in the day.
