China to Promote Famous Brands on World Market

Chinese Vice Premier Wu Bangguo Thursday called on the Chinese nation to make efforts to promote the development of China's brand commodities so as to benefit the world's people.

In his letter to a symposium on "China's Rising Famous Brand" held in Beijing Thursday, Wu said that development of brand commodities concerns China's economic growth and social progress. He said he believes that with joint efforts from various sectors, China's brand commodities will rise in the world and China's economy will see fast growth in the coming century. Cheng Bangzhu, president of the China Quality Control Association, said that brands have become an important guide for customers when they make purchases.

He said that with the deepening of economic reforms and opening up, many enterprises in China are blazing the way and creating famous brand commodities for the international market. Chen said that the core for famous brands is quality, and he urged China's enterprises to enhance quality control in production and improve products with updated technology.

More than 500 scholars, experts, and representatives from China 's enterprises with famous brands attended the symposium.
