Tourism Flourishes After Macao's ReturnTourism has been flourishing in Zhuhai and Macao after the latter's return to the motherland on December 20 last year.By early April, Gongbei Customs had dealt with 10 million tourists. Some 9.58 million tourists passed through customs in the first three months of the year alone, up 26.2 percent from the same period last year. Gongbei Customs is situated on the border between Macao and Zhuhai. Gongbei Port has become China's second largest customs for tourists entering and leaving the country's mainland. A growing number of domestic tourists have been attracted to Macao after its return to China, promoting tourism in Macao and Zhuhai. More and more Taiwan compatriots choose to tour scenic sites, visit relatives or do business in the mainland from Macao via Gongbei Customs. In the first three months of the year, Gongbei Customs dealt with 310,000 Taiwan compatriots, an increase of 36.9 percent from the same period last year.
