Guangdong Community Refutes Taiwan Separatist's Remarks

Guangdong communities in Hong Kong on Wednesday strongly condemned Annette Lu's statements advocating "Taiwan independence," warning that any attempt to split the motherland is doomed to failure.

At a symposium organized by the Guangdong Communities, participants pointed out that Lu, turning a blind eye to historical facts, has made absurd statements of "distant relatives and close neighbors" to describe cross-Strait relations, which revealed her real intention to split the motherland.

Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory and can never be separated from the motherland, which has become a shared view of people across the Taiwan straits as well as the international community, participants said.

Lu, who preached "it's time for the international community to interfere with the Taiwan issue," attempted to internationalize the Taiwan issue and turned to foreign forces to carry out separatist activities.

The Chinese people must keep their eyes open to any attempts to hamper China's reunification cause, participants said.

Participants believed anyone who goes against the "One China" principle will be a sinner to the Chinese nation.

The successful implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle in Hong Kong and Macao proves that the principle is the best way to achieve China's peaceful reunification, they said. They urged the Taiwan authorities to proceed from the interests of the Taiwan people and come back to the "One China" stance, doing some useful things for China's peaceful reunification.
