SEZs Clinch More Business Deals at Guangzhou FairChina's five Special Economic Zones (SEZ) struck more than US$ one billion worth of business deals at the 87th Chinese Export Commodities Fair which is scheduled to close Wednesday.The five SEZs are Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou cities in Guangdong Province, and Xiamen in Fujian Province, as well as Hainan Province. The business deals they clinched accounted for one tenth of the total volume of business deals struck at the fair. SEZs continue to be China's most dynamic export-oriented economic development centers. By April 24, the total volume of business deals struck at the fair was worth US$ 11.56 billion, up 54.65 percent from the previous fair held last autumn. The total business deals struck by the five SEZs was worth US$ 1. 097 billion, compared to US$ 729 million at the previous Fair. Shenzhen, China's first SEZ, clinched US$ 550 million worth of business deals at the Fair, accounting for more than half of the five SEZs' total. |
