RMB$300 Billion for Subway/Railway Construction Mapped in Shanghai

Eleven subways over a distance of 384km and 10 light-track railways totaling 186km are to be built in Shanghai, according to a latest urban plan by the Municipal government.

The plan says that a total of over 300 billion yuan will be demanded for the planned projects to be built 15-20km with 10 billion yuan of cost a year.

A new investment/finance system will be put out to encourage more investors to invest in Shanghai's infrastructure construction, following the principle of "who invests, who owns and who reaps profit".
