No Big CIH Attacks Reported in China

One of the most damaging computer viruses "CIH" did not cause many computer problems on its anniversary Wednesday.

In contrast to the fact that the virus damaged 360,000 computers in China on April 26 last year, no reports of big CIH incidents were received yesterday, the newspaper reported. On Tuesday, domestic media warned the public of the upcoming CIH and suggested that people kill the virus by changing date on computers or with anti-virus softwares.

The newspaper said that only several sporadic CIH virus incidents were reported in Beijing and Shanghai yesterday. CIH virus was reportedly created by Chen Ing-hau, a 24-year-old Taiwanese information engineer. He held a news conference in Taiwan Tuesday warning people of the virus.
