Chinese Ministry, Siemens Sign Memorandum for Personnel Training

The Chinese Ministry of Personnel and Siemens of Germany signed a memorandum of understanding Wednesday to enhance management and talent training for the opening up of western China.

The memorandum marks a new stage in China's cooperation with world-known enterprises for business personnel training. The Ministry of Personnel and Siemens began their collaboration in 1997.

In the past three years, the ministry has selected more than 50 leaders of large state-owned enterprises to go to Germany and study modern enterprise management and transnational business strategy.

The State Administrative College also cooperated with Siemens in 1996, and it has sent 180 entrepreneurs to Germany for training and research.

Zhang Xuezhong, vice-minister of personnel, said that at present, the ministry is focusing on the development of western China to promote talent resources, adding that it will be of value for China to learn from Siemens' experience
