Macao University Works Well with National Science Foundation

The University of Macao has been cooperating well with the National Natural Science Foundation of China to conduct joint researches since 1995, a press release from the university said Wednesday.

So far scholars from both sides have completed six research projects on the environment and urban development of Macao, and the findings had been edited into three research reports.

The reports cover environmental remote sensing and digital analysis, the assessment of vehicle tail gas pollution, and the assessment of organic pollution along the west bank of the mouth of Pearl River.

Recently, the university and the foundation have agreed on four joint research projects on Macao's environment and urban development to be carried out from now on up to 2002.

In addition, the foundation has decided to set up a special fund to help young people in Macao conduct scientific studies.
