All-UK China Economy Society Called Annual Meeting

The 11th annual meeting of All-UK China Economy Society was called April 17-18 in Middlesex University, London. The meeting has been held centering on sustainable development of China's economy geared to the 21st century.

Over 150 representatives from more than 10 countries and regions like Britain, China, HKSAR of China, Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, France and Israel attended this gathering and about 40 papers on China's economy have been submitted.

Chinese ambassador to Britain Ma Zhengang made a keynote speech at the opening ceremony and he highly praised the positive roles played by the Society in promoting academic exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Edward Heath, former Britain Prime Minister and honorary president of the Society was also present at the two-day meeting.

Set up on November 20, 1988, All-UK China Economy Society is a non-profit-making academic institute. By now, 10 annual gatherings have been successfully called and attracted officials, experts and entrepreneurs from all over the world, including over 10 Chinese and British leaders at ministerial level.

In addition, 10 special magazines and paper collections on China's economic hotspots and focuses have been published and the Society has aroused extensive attention from prominent international academic institutes, enterprises and governments.
