China Wins UNESCO Rewards
It is reported from the recent 21st meeting of UNESCO China National Committee that Chinese citizens and organizations have won rewards of UNESCO in the past year.
The items of rewards include world young female scientist, human being and biosphere plan, photography, handicraft, cultural landscape management, Silk Road scholarship, nominee for eliminating illiteracy, life culture designing, etc.
According to another report, two places of China were successfully listed as world heritages. One is the Wuyi Mountain of Fujian Province, which was listed as both cultural and natural heritage; the other is the Dazu Sculpture of Chongqing, which was listed as a cultural heritage. China had 23 world heritages by the end of 1999.
