Financial Development Forum Scheduled for May 21According to the decision made at the '99 Annual Meeting of the Local Financial Research and Coordination Group, the fourth National Local Financial Development Forum is to be opened in Chengde, Hebei Province between May 21 and 24, 2000.The meeting will focus on the study on the prospect and concrete operation of local financial development, problems and countermeasures confronting local financial development after China's accession to the WTO, policy support and system reform for local financial organizations, supervision and risk prevention of local financial institutions, success and failure, gains and losses and experiences and lessons drawn in local financial operation: It will also listen to the reports by State leaders and relevant experts, the introduction of experiences by representatives of excellent local financial institutions. It concludes mobilization for the appraisal of top 100 local financial institutions, arrangements for the local financial publicity month, formation of a body of adjustment, study and coordination, investigation into local financial institutions and exchanges made between leaders with local financial management organizations.
