Peony Fragrance Attracts Two Million Tourists

The 18th Peony Fair in Luoyang in central China's Henan Province drew down its curtain on April 25 with economic contracts worth some 1.76 billion yuan (about 210.2 million US dollars) signed during the fair over the past 10 days. The fair received nearly two million visitors from home and abroad, more than 500 of whom are business people from over 20 domestic cities and 20 countries and regions, including the U.S., Japan, France, Russia, and Finland, according to the organizers. During the event, Shanghai-Henan trade negotiations and a business fair were also held.

Over 10,000 plants of various peony species will still be in blossom during the seven-day-long International Labor Day holiday to welcome another group of tourists to the city.
