CPPCC Vice-Chairman Meets Cambodian Prince

Li Guixian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Cambodian Prince Norodom Sirivudh Tuesday.

Li said the Chinese Communist Party and government both treasure the bilateral friendship between the two countries, which was initiated and fostered by Chinese leaders of the elder generation and King Norodom Sihanouk.

To further consolidate the good-neighborliness between China and Cambodia is not only in the fundamental interest of the two countries, but also beneficial to peace, stability and development of Asia and even the world at large, Li noted.

Sirivudh reaffirmed the Cambodian government will, as always, stick to the "one China" policy, adding he himself is willing to do more to stimulate communication and cooperation between the two countries.

The prince, who severs as senior advisor to King Sihanouk and chairman of the council of the Cambodian Institute of Cooperation and Peace, is visiting China as guest of the Chinese Association for International Understanding.
