China's Central Bank Teaches Public to Spot Fake Money

The People's Bank of China, the central bank, will launch a publicity campaign in May to teach people how to spot counterfeit Renminbi (RMB), the Chinese currency.

China's State Council adopted the Regulations on the Management of RMB in February, which stipulate that financial institutions are obliged to educate the public about counterfeit money, and they also must take measures to ensure that no phony or damaged RMB gets into the hands of the public.

The regulations will go into effect on May 1.
