More Power Transmission Works to Be BuiltChina National Power Corporation will inject 30 billion yuan (US$3.61 billion) in the next five years to build works to connect seven trans- regional power grids to facilitate transmission of electricity from China's western to eastern regions.Three major transmission routes from the west to the east are now operational. Transmission routes have played a positive role in improving power grids and stabilizing electricity prices, as well as reducing pollution. A corporate executive told Xinhua that preparations for linking up local power grids from Shandong, Guangdong and central China will be accelerated during the tenth Five-Year-Plan period (2001-2005).
