People in the south China city of Shenzhen, China's first Special Economic Zone, continued to enjoy the highest income among the 35 major Chinese cities, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
Figures released by the bureau show that in January, residents in Shenzhen had a per-capita monthly income of 1,867.30 yuan, and per-capita monthly disposable income of 1,852.83 yuan, while their per-capita monthly living expenditure stood at 2047.45 yuan.
The city was followed by Guangzhou and Ningbo in terms of monthly per-capita income and disposable income. The per-capita monthly income in Guangzhou was 1,231.07 yuan and that of Ningbo was 1,159.90 yuan.
The average per-capita monthly income of 35 major Chinese cities stood at 708.60 yuan, with the per-capita monthly disposable income at 704.77 yuan and per-capita monthly living expenditure at 560.63 yuan.
