Chinese President Jiang Zemin Sunday arrived in Crete, the largest island in Greece, continuing his state visit to the country.
During his stay here, Jiang toured the Agrain Union of Peza, a local agricultural produce processing company which is famous for brewing wine and processing olive oil.
The Agrain Union of Peza, with a long history of 67 years, produces 10,000 tons of wine and 4,000 tons of olive oil annually, most of which are exported to Europe, the United States, Australia and South Africa. China began to import its produces in 1997. Jiang also visited an archeology museum on the island which was established in 1904.
Jiang began his visit to Greece on April 21, which is the fourth leg of his five-nation tour of Asia, Europe and Africa.
