Vice-Premier Li Lanqing Back After Four-Nation Trip

Chinese Vice-Premier Li Lanqing returned to Beijing this morning after attending the South Summit and concluding an official visit to Cuba, Malta, the Netherlands and Ireland.

Those who greeted Li and his party at the Great Hall of the People included State Councilor Luo Gan, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Bai Keming, Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council Cui Zhanfu, Assistant Foreign Minister Ma Canrong, and diplomatic envoys of the four countries in Beijing.

Li's wife Zhang Suzhen, Vice-Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Vice- Finance Minister Zhang Youcai, Chief Negotiator of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Long Yongtu were also back by the same plane, along with other members of Li's entourage.
