Beijing Police Crack Down on PickpocketsBeijing police have launched a battle against pickpockets on the city's buses in an effort to create a safer travel environment for residents during the upcoming seven holidays for International Labor Day.A source from the public transport branch of the Beijing Public Security Bureau said that some 70 pickpockets were nabbed by police on buses yesterday. The anti-pickpockets campaign started on the No. 300 bus line, where pickpockets were frequently reported, the source said. All buses in the Chinese capital are now under close police supervision. |
