Beijing is to host the 2nd China International Defense Electronic Exhibition from June 27 to 30.
The exhibition will display communication, information, commanding and controlling systems, computer and network products, military electronic instruments, aerial electronics, air traffic controlling, fire controlling and radar systems, electronic war equipment, and related instrument and testing system.
The first such event was staged in May 1998 and it was attended by 150 enterprises from 15 countries and regions, including the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Israel and China. The upcoming exhibition will be a venue of exchanges of electronic technology that has become a determining factor in the present-day defense field, "Beijing Review" said.
The modernization of military electronic equipment is one of the tasks of the Chinese army. In this situation many foreign high- tech companies are seeking the opportunity to enter the Chinese market, the Review noted.
