HK Woman Helps North China Dropout Girls

Jennifer Zhow, a Hong Kong lady, has recently donated another 600,000 yuan (about 72,000 U.S. dollars) to help 500 girls from poor families in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to complete their compulsory education.

Zhang Yongting, a girl from Wuchuan county of the region was among the first group of the beneficial. With the money, she is determined to attain her goal of becoming a college student. Ms Zhow, one of the founders of the "Spring Bud Project", made her first donation of 600,000 yuan in October 1996 to bring 675 dropout girls in the region's nine poor counties back into schools. She also donated one million yuan for the girls in poor families in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan and Sichuan.
