China Opens 15 More Areas to Foreigners

Approved by the State Council, China opens up another 15 counties to foreigners, adding such places to a total of 1420, announced spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security today in Beijing.

The newly opened places are: the Yi Autonomous County of Mabian, the Tibetan Autonomous County of Muli,the counties of Gulin, Meigu, Leibo, and Jinyang, all in southwest China's Sichuan Province; Wencheng County and Taishun County in east China's Zhejiang Province; and the banners of Xi Ujimqin, Taibus, Zhenglan, Xianghuang, Zhengxiangbai, Duolun County and Arxan City in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

In accordance with related regulations stipulated by Law of the People's Republic of China on Control of Entry and Exit of Aliens, foreigners with valid visas or residing credentials need no longer to apply for travel license to tour the foresaid 15 places.
