Sponsored by the International Coffee Organization (ICO), the two-week event has attracted many major coffee companies from around the world, including Nestle, Kraft and Milan Gold. The coffee festival is held simultaneously in Beijing and Shanghai. The festival also launched its Chinese-language website at www. coffeelife.net.cn. The website features coffee facts, tasting tips and links to major coffee producers.

"We are glad to see the popularity of coffee growing in China," said Michael Heath, manager for promotional projects for ICO. China has the largest potential for growth in coffee consumption of any country in the world, he said.

With its headquarters in London, the ICO has 62 members, accounting for 95 percent of the world's coffee producers.
