Dinosaurs With Feathers Arrived at HK Science Museum

Eight pieces of invaluable feathered dinosaur fossils will be on display at Hong Kong Science Museum from May 2 to June 11, bringing the existing Chinese dinosaur fossils exhibition to another climax.

Shown for the first time in Asia, all the eight pieces fossils are the types of feathered dinosaurs of more than one hundred million years old.

To coincide with the exhibition, a lecture on dinosaurs with feathers in China and the origin of birds will be held and the guest speaker will be the Curator of the National Geological Museum of China Ji Qiang.

Between 1996 and 1998, several types of feathered dinosaurs of late Jurassic or early Cretaceous (between 1.4 and 1.2 hundred million years ago) were unearthed in Northeast China's Liaoning Province.

Fourteen genuine dinosaur fossils from China's mainland are now on display in the Special Exhibition Hall of the Science Museum.
