Holds Hong Kong has cast off the Influence of Financial Crisis

Hong Kong has shaken off the influence of Asian financial crisis, Alton, the president of Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation said today, and it is now actively making preparation for the commercial opportunities brought about by China's entry into WTO.

Alton made this remark when he was presiding over the opening ceremony of Hong Kong Presents & Household Appliance Exhibition. He said that the increase in commercial activities and internal consumption and sustaining improvement of the atmosphere on consumption market reflected that Hong Kong economy was in recovery. Meanwhile, Hong Kong entrepreneurs are throwing themselves into the field of e-commerce one in wake of the other and making plans to meet the new business chances offered by China's accession into WTO.

Hong Kong Gift & Article for Family Use is held in Hong Kong Conference & Exhibition Center from today to April 20, in which the number of the participating companies has exceeded 3400, setting a record high. The total export of gifts and household appliance from HK last year grew by 16%.
