Enhanced Cooperation Between Chinese, Dutch SMEs Called For
Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing called on the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of China and the Netherlands to expand their cooperation areas and enhance the level of their existing cooperation.
Speaking to a group of prominent Dutch businessmen, Li said the Chinese and Dutch economies are highly complimentary to each other in their development, and there is a great potential for further cooperation as China is giving priority to the development of such sectors of energy industry, electronics industry, chemical industry and agriculture.
As China's development is offering new opportunities for foreign businessmen, Li said he hoped the business circles of the two countries would increase exchanges between them and try to explore new areas of cooperation.
He noted that in the process of development, the Chinese SMEs need foreign investment, advanced technology and experience of management, which are exactly what the Dutch SMEs have to offer. The Chinese government will continue to support the cooperation between the SMEs of the two countries, the Vice Premier said. He also called on the Dutch SMEs to actively participate in China's drive to develop the inner and western parts of the country, which, as he stressed, promises great business opportunities for foreign enterprises.
