China Launches Web Site for Women

China launched a website for women in Beijing at: www.gaogenxie.com, designed to attract female users of the Internet by offering special features on single mothers and single women.

It also offers a wide range of services, including information about life, work, entertainment, and personal feelings. China had 8.9 million Internet users by the end of 1999, 21 percent of them female, and the figure is growing.
