China to Host Non-state Economy Fortune ForumChina will hold its first non-state economy fortune forum in Shenzhen City of Guangdong Province from June 23-25.Entitled "2000 International Forum on Small and Medium-Sized Chinese Enterprises and Non-State Economic Development Strategy", the event will be jointly sponsored by six Chinese organizations, including the State Economic and Trade Commission, Shenzhen City Government, All China Federation of Industry and Commerce and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, along in cooperation with a number of overseas organizations, including UN Development Program (UNDP). Hundreds of Chinese private businessmen, government officials and specialists to the forum will discuss issues about Chinese non-state economy in the new economic era, such as development strategy, challenges after China's entrance into the World Trade Organization, development ways for high-tech enterprises, and new financing channels. The forum will also invite high-ranking officials with well- known international investment and fund organizations from America, Asia and Europe to discuss with Chinese participants about how Chinese non-state enterprises to expand business in foreign countries and get listed at foreign stock exchanges. Last year, 80 percent of the country's exports were done by non-state entities which also contributed 72 percent to the country's total industrial output value. It is expected that China's non-stage economy will sit equally together with the state economy this year, with its proportion in the country's entire national economy exceeding 50 percent for the first time. |
