Rainstorm Wrecks Havoc in Southern Guangdong

A heavy rainstorm in the past two days has killed eight people and cost 200 million yuan in damages in south China's Guangdong Province.

Floods inundated Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Zhongshan and other areas along the Pearl River Delta from April 13-14 disrupting traffic and causing landslides. The floods have abated and rain stopped yesterday. Despite the disaster, the rainstorm alleviated drought in much of the region, said experts.
