There is broad perspective for the bilateral cooperation in the new millennium, Jiang said during his meeting with Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation Shimon Peres and some Israeli businessmen. Jiang said that his current visit is aimed at deepening the mutual understanding and consolidating the friendship between the two countries through the high-level contacts. He spoke highly of the achievement of Israel, saying that the Israeli people has built up a country full of green views on a desert region. Jiang also briefed his Israeli guests on the current economic situation and social developments in China, as well as Chinese government's strategy of developing west China on a massive scale. Peres, also the honorary president of the Council for the Promotion of Israel-China Relations, extended his welcome on behalf of the council. He cited Jiang's trip as one made for the future of the bilateral relations because Jiang has been committed to joining hands with Israel to create a new world. Therefore, Jiang has earned the hearts of most of the Israeli people during his visit, he added. He said that the Israeli government and business community will spare no effort to further the relations between Israel and China.
