Earthquake Jolts Western China Province

An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale rocked Zadoi County, Yushu Tibetan

Autonomous Prefecture, in northwest China's Qinghai Province at 17:32 (Beijing Time)

Saturday, according to the China Seismological Bureau.

The epicenter was located at 32.9 degrees north latitude and 95.4 degrees east longitude, the

bureau said in a report reaching Xinhua Sunday morning.

According to the bureau, the quake was strongly felt in Zadoi and slight rifts are seen in some

houses. Details of the quake are being investigated.
