Pandas to Get Porno Videos for "Sex Therapy"

To improve the panda's reproductive abilities, researchers at a Chinese panda research center came up with the idea of showing pandas mating videos to arouse their natural sexual instincts.

Chinese researchers believe Panda's reproductive problems stem not from an inability to mate, nor from mating too quickly -- but from not being interested in sex.

The center has refused numerous offers from pharmaceutical companies to help preserve the country's living "national treasure" by providing donations of western Viagra and home-grown aphrodisiacs.

Research has shown that more than 60 percent of mature pandas (at the center) have not shown any signs of being aroused.

Normal (female) pandas can become pregnant ... after mating periods as short as 21 seconds.

Zhang Hemin, in charge of the Wolong panda research center in southwestern Sichuan province, was quoted as saying that efforts were being made to induce the pandas to mate naturally by improving their environment and nutritional conditions.

Due to pandas' poor reproductive abilities the Wolong center and another panda center in the Sichuan provincial capital of Chengdu have established sperm banks for the country's animal emblem.

Half of 20 pandas which were artificially inseminated have given birth, it said.
