Explosions at Kingshasa Airport Kill at least 50

At least fifty people are dead and hundreds injured following a series of explosions at Kinshasa airport in the Congo.

A government spokesman says ammunition shipments on board a military cargo plane went off after the plane caught fire. The blaze started in a nearby warehouse, and is being blamed on an electrical fault.

Some airport workers who witnessed the fire say they saw rockets flying through the fire and flames for several hours. The damage to the airport is extensive and some flights in and out of Kingshasa have been cancelled.
