He disclosed that the agreed Disney Park plus large-sized plans and projects like numeral harbors will boost Hong Kong's construction industry into another peak. Lee pointed out that the present urban planning and construction in Hong Kong has come steadily to maturity, while the research and operation in the fields of infrastructure, housing, related technologies, environmental protection and energy saving have also been daily perfected. Along with the economic take-off in the hinterland, China's inland areas have, in recent years, also constantly expanded and accelerated infrastructure construction, such as railway, highway, civil aviation, communication, urban and rural facilities and housing. Recently, the State has clearly decided to implement the strategy for western development and has for this invested huge sum of money to develop capital construction, environmental protection and other major projects. Finally, he expressed conviction that through participation in western development and joint efforts with the western region, the construction industry of Hong Kong and the western region can create common prosperity. |
