Chinese State Councilor Wang Zhongyu met with Yohei Sasakawa, president and chief representative of the Japanese side of the Sasakawa Japan-China Friendship Fund, and his party on April 13.
Wang, also secretary-general of the State Council, had a cordial conversation with the guests, who are here to participate in activities marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Sasakawa Japan-China Friendship Fund.
The Sasakawa Japan-China Friendship Fund, jointly set up by the China Association for International Friendly Contact and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Japan in December, 1989, was designed for promoting prosperity of both countries and world peace through exchanges between the people of the two countries.
The Sasakawa Japan-China Friendship Fund has so far helped launch more than 200 programs in the areas of industry agriculture, environmental protection, science, technology, education and health.
