China Hopes to Resolve HR Differences Through Dialogue

Dialogue based on equality and mutual respect is the only correct way in resolving differences among countries on the issue of human rights while confrontation leads to nowhere, China's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sun Yuxi said in a regular press conference April 13.

Responding to reporters at a regular press conference, Sun said that China has taken note of the decision made by the European Union that it would not co-sponsor an anti-China Resolution tabled by the United States at the current session on human rights in Geneva.

"We have all along believed that the dialogue based on equality and mutual respect is the only correct way in resolving differences among countries on the issue of human rights while confrontation leads to nowhere," Sun said.

China hopes that the EU will continue to adopt the dialogue approach in this regard, Sun said.
