Huge Gap in Annual Salaries for CEOs in China's State Enterprises

A huge gap is emerging between the salaries of the CEO's of China' s best and worst paid state owned enterprises. The range appears to stretch from the highest salary of one million yuan down to the lowest, at two thousand.

According to a National Statistics Bureau survey, the gap varies from region to region and from company to company. For instance, the difference in salaries is bigger in southwest China's Sichuan province but smaller in Henan.

Analysts say, the huge gap indicates that the payment system needs regulating and supervising. A new system for paying management was introduced recently to encourage creativeness and skills among CEOs.
