Government of Shanghai in eastern China can now provide agricultural information to local farmers more effectively as an agriculture website on the Internet has been launched in Shanghai recently.
Concerned departments in Shanghai are publicizing the Internet knowledge among farmers in the municipality's suburban areas, so that more farmers can use the website www.shac.gov.cn, which is open to all the country's information resources and markets.
Browsers can get 26 kinds of information including farming advice, practical techniques and introducing investment available at the website.
Local farmers told Xinhua that they want the website to tell them what they should plant, how to plant, and where they can sell their farm produce and the price.
