Fourth China Fair for International Investment and Trade Scheduled for September

The Fourth China Fair for International Investment and Trade (CFIIT) will be held in Xiamen in east China's Fujian province on September 8-12.

This was announced at a joint press conference on April 11 by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) and the CFIIT Organizing Committee.

Liu Zuozhang, vice-director of the Department of Foreign Investment under MOFTEC, said that the CFIIT will highlight the importance of investment and push the publicizing of new policies to attract foreign investment.

Meanwhile, the CFIIT will stress the use of foreign investment in major state projects in the central and western regions. The CFIIT will continue its efforts to promote trade across the Taiwan Straits, he said.

A new exhibition hall will be the venue for the fair, and senior officials from global economic organizations and governments will attend.

CFIIT is the sole national economic and trade activity devoted to foreign direct investment attraction. In the past three sessions, contracts for 6,708 investment and cooperation projects were signed with a total foreign investment of 37.249 billion US dollars, with the import and export trade volume amounting to 2. 968 billion US dollars.
