Speeding up Welfare Socialization Demanded in China
State Councilor Ismail Amat, at the working meeting of national welfare socialization held on April 12 in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, stressed that China must step up its welfare socialization to advance the country's social welfare construction.
In his speech, Ismail Amat pointed out that speeding up welfare socialization is necessary for developing a socialist market economy and meeting challenges arising from a large aging population and the effort for creation of a welfare service system for the aged. Social modernization, especially urbanization by itself, he added, has complete necessity for building a developed socialized welfare system in China.
Ismail Amat said that China will deepen reforms by state-owned welfare enterprises and institutions and mobilize the whole nation to pool in efforts for establishing a sound, orderly, rapidly developed social welfare system of China's own.
In addition, he called on concerned departments at all levels to put welfare socialization as an important issue on agenda and work out relevant policies and measures in time to speed up welfare socialization in China.
