China Appoints, Replaces Envoys

Chinese President Jiang Zemin appointed and replaced a number of ambassadors April 12 in accordance with a decision made by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

Wang Guozhang replaced Wang Yongxiang as China's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Zhang Xiaokang replaced Zheng Jinjiong as China's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Ireland.

Lu Boyuan replaced Wang Qiliang as China's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Portugal.

Yang Shixiang replaced Wu Zhenglong as China's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Antigua and Barbuda.

Yao Peisheng replaced Li Hui as China's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Kazakstan. Wang Kaiwen replaced Yao Peisheng as China's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Latvia.
