Cultural Corridor to Be Built At Three Gorges

A cultural corridor will be built along the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River within 10 years.

The 193-km-long Three Gorges, in an area between Chongqing Municipality and central China's Hubei Province, is a well-known scenic spot in China. The area holds 1,282 archeological sites including ancient tombs, unique bridges and famous stone carvings. The most brilliant sites comprise a 2.8-billion-year-old rock and 1.4-million-year-old palae anthropological ruins.

The cultural corridor will be divided into ten parts, respectively featuring stone carvings, Sichuan culture, war-theme culture and etc. Seven key cultural architectures to be built according to the development program include the Chongqing Theater, Three Gorges Museum, a library and an art gallery.
