Supreme Court Probes Legal Issues Concerning WTO Entry

China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) has launched an intensive investigation of newly-emerging legal issues revolving around China's expected entry into the World Trade Organization and e-commerce.

The SPC proposed 22 topics for a year-long study to be headed by its president Xiao Yang and vice-presidents. The work will involve heads of provincial level higher people's courts, legal experts and other senior judges.

The research will focus on the reform of the court personnel management system, financial crimes and lowering legal fees for the poor.
