HKSAR Official Promises Full Support to Asian Games' Bidding

Anson Chan, Acting Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and Chairman of the Asian Games Bidding Committee (AGBC), met recently with the secretary general of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) who is currently visiting Hong Kong.

She said that the Hong Kong Government would give its full support to the bidding for the Asian Games.

The secretary general spoke highly of AGBC, which is composed of Government, Sports Community and Business Sectors. He also expressed his confidence in Hong Kong's ability for the bidding.

Up to now, four cities, including New Delhi of India, Dohah of Qatar; Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia and Hong Kong SAR of China have put in their tenders for the Asian Games. The lucky one will be decided in November.
