Diplomatic Envoys from EU Members Visit Shandong
Diplomatic envoys from 14 European Union member countries recently visited east China's Shandong Province, where they expressed their interest to help deepen cooperation between EU and this fast growing coastal province in eastern China.
Shandong provincial governor Li Chunting met with the envoys during their stay, and explained the province's economic and social development plans. He said Shandong's cooperation with the EU in economic, scientific, technological and other sectors has been increasing since the country's reform and opening up.
He noted that there's still broad cooperative potential between them in fields such as intensive agricultural processing, industry, education, and commerce.
The EU is now Shandong's fourth-largest trading partner. All the 15 EU members have invested in the province, for nearly 900 projects, and a total of 1.29 billion US dollars of EU funding has been used.
